Welcome to Weisenborn Jr. High School! Having worked primarily at the junior high level throughout my career, I believe that this age is a crucial time for students both academically and socially. During the two years students spend at Weisenborn, they are given additional independence and time management responsibilities. This is done while also emphasizing collaboration, communication, critical thinking, empathy, perseverance, and problem solving. All of these skills make up our district’s Portrait of a Warrior. I am excited to embark on the 23/24 school year, as our staff help your student to begin the process of preparing for high school and beyond.
This school year, Weisenborn will also be welcoming two new assistant principals, Mrs. Tirado and Mr. Mills. Kristin Tirado will serve as our 7th grade assistant principal. Mrs. Tirado comes to us from Trotwood City Schools, where she taught math at the middle school level. We also welcome Steven Mills as our 8th grade assistant principal. Mr. Mills has served as the assistant principal at Monticello the past three years. Both Mrs. Tirado and Mr. Mills bring a passion for student achievement, and are excited to be a part of the Weisenborn learning community.
The goal of the junior high is to create a partnership with families. The success of our students requires us to work together to make junior high an experience that prepares students for the next step at Wayne High School. Please do not hesitate to contact teachers, administrators, counselors or the main office when needed. We are here to help!
